On July 14 at Bodega: Room 101 a benefit show was organised by skirted
Records. All money raised is donated to earthquake relief in the Bantul
region of Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia.
Performers were Hammondhead, Twin Peeks, Onomatapoeia, ,Black Pudding,
and mr sterile Assembly.
These photos are from the group who we are donating the money to and
some evidence of the work they are doing.
They are helping with rehousing and reconstruction in the devastated
region

A group of Wellington musicians [and 1 band from Palmerston North] have
gathered together to use their talents to generate income to donate to
house rebuilding projects in Sriharjo vilage housed within the Bantul
region of Yogyakarta. The area was savagely hit by the earthquake on
May 27, measuring magnitude 6.3, and claiming the lives of over 5000
people, and leaving an estimated 1.5 million people homeless.
The show is happening in the downstairs bar of Bar Bodega, named Room 101. And performing on the evening are Twin Peeks [Hannah Simpson from Cherrys Gemstones], Black Pudding [from Palmy Nth], Hammondhead [The Chandeliers' keys man, Nigel Patterson], the avant-punk group mr sterile Assembly, and Onomatopoeia [double bassist Issac Smith's new trio].
The door price is $10 waged and $8 low/unwaged. The show commences at 9.45PM Simultaneously that evening, a similar event is taking place in Auckland at the Necropolis, again with all money being donated to the earthquake fund.
