The mr sterile Assembly manifest itself around 2002 in Wellington, Aotearoa/New Zealand. Taking many forms in its duration, the Assembly presents its anarchic blend of politics and humor with its ear intent on a theatrical bent. Orbiting around the solo songwriting of mr sterile, the band has taken many configurations, with the most well known being the 7 member line up. This version comprised of the usual bass, guitar, drums plus the additional riotous colour of cello, trombone, clarinet, percussion and multiple voice. The current line up is a more standard rock band format, bass, guitar, drums, and saxophone. This is all that is standard with the group.

Staunch advocates of the DIY(do it yourself) ethic, the mr sterile Assembly has toured and played extensively within NZ and abroad on their 2005 tour of eastern Europe[Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland], inwhich they also spent time as artist-in-residence at CESTA[The Cultural Exchange Station in Tabor], Czech Republic. The label skirted Records, established by members of mr sterile Assembly, released the Assembly album titled Hulagu. The band also collabourated with video artist Mike Heynes who created a video for the title track of the CD which is also included on the disc.

In 2006 the mr sterile Assembly recorded a new limited edition tour release titled 15 Minute Crib[available for free download HERE] for the tour of Malaysia, Java[Indonesia] and Singapore. The tour was amazing and can be viewed by clinking the link below.
Inital plans for 2007 are some more touring of Aotearoa/NZ [Gisborne, Nelson, Greymouth etc] and a trip to Oz. A new full length is being plan, with additional vids to again be included with the package. 

2007: A lot of playing around NZ, expanding the bank of tunes, doing various recordings. A north Island tour with Sabot, and sorted the tour for the US author Mykel Board.

2008: The birth of the whyt show at the Dunedin Fringe Festival - won two awards;best music, and best design production. North island tour with Vialka in which the trust [now not-so-trusty] van haemorraged oil and spew smoke and died 5k outside of Tauramanui. Dave leaves band for adventures abroad, and new guitarist recruited.
