Modern gleaners

Glean (v. t.) To collect with patient and minute labor; to pick out; to obtain.

Burke's bin: Large container, holds upto a ton in weight, used by those people who like the odd touch of spring cleaning, emptying out household item.

The afore mentioned sprung item utimately end up at the dump.
its truely amazeing what people throw away.

If looking for some tin,
or maybe some old tyres,
I use them to grow my spuds in,
stack them as they get hire.
And when I want a feed of chips,
unstack them as I go.
There’s so much useful stuff to find,
good stuff that people throw.

I went to build a fence,
so I found some stakes and wire.
With some bricks and solid steal,
I built a garden fire.
Andrew went to build a shed,
he found the windows, timber, tin.
At night you have to take it out
from Burkes bin’s people throw in.

My best pal is a painter,
at finding he is the best.
Things like clocks and garden tools,
furniture and desks.
Cool old books, crazy records,
clothes and plates and pots.
When gleaning, ask “what can be used”
or maybe “waste not want not”

See my drum kit, all the bits
and pieces that have been found.
Put it all together
and it makes a wicked sound.
A pot from Johnny, drums from Shane,
sheet steal from Mr Burke.
And bang out the coolest rhythm,.
to make your rubbish work.
